there yonder window!
Well after three weeks of waiting for a visa to arrive I am departing from Columbus! I am so excited I think I might be sick.
On Friday the British Consulate called me, yeah awkward. I talked to a nice lady and she said that since some of my paperwork was not originals I would need to obtain originals and send them in. One was my housing contract, I told her that she would have to asked England about that because they have the original as I had to mail them it. The second was loan information and bank things. I told her, yeah I never got those back from the second application. She was like oh well that might work. I told her that 2/3rds of my stuff never came back. Including bank statements. She said that she would check in the archives for my previous applications and see if that paperwork would be sufficient. Well, sure nuff. She called me back later and said that her and her supervisor checked over it and found that what they have from the previous applications and the 3rd one would be enough. SERIOUSLY!!!! Really, who has two applications used towards one?! Either way I got it today and am leaving on a jet plane. Yes, that is a song reference.
So praise Jesus...took long enough.
This time though when I got visa they had sent back all my paperwork!! Transcript includes. What I find the funniest part is that the lady mentioned during the original paperwork part that I really seemed to be a victim of the new process. Satisfaction is mine.
As for the title of this post it is a song by Gracie Fields. In the movie, The History Boys there is a part where a group of students are driving to Cambridge for interviews and they sing this out the windows to their onlooking teachers. Yes I am providing a link for your hearing pleasure: GracieFieldsSong
So today I am leaving. I will arrive tomorrow at 8:50 AM.
Columbus --> New York --> Amsterdam --> Newcastle
God has really given me a wonderful opportunity and is allowing me to take this time. A great verse to start us off is this Psalms 21:1-2
Psalms 21: 1-2
O Lord, the king rejoices in your strength.
How great is his joy in the victories you give!
You have granted him the desires of his heart,
and not withheld the requests of his lips...
